After breakfast at your Marrakech riad, our guide will welcome you to your marrakech private desert trips as you go on an unforgettable morocco private desert tours . The journey begins with a drive from Marrakech to the Dades Valley, crossing the stunning Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m high) in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll be treated to beautiful landscapes filled with vibrant colors and traditional Berber villages.
Your first stop will be at the renowned Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its appearance in movies like 'Gladiator,' 'Lawrence of Arabia,' and 'Kingdom of Heaven.' After exploring this iconic kasbah, enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant that offers a taste of local flavors.
Continuing further south, we reach Ouarzazate, known as the 'Gate to the Sahara.' Here, you’ll visit the famous cinema studios and the historic Kasbah Taourirt. We then drive eastward to the lush Dades Valley, passing through the picturesque Skoura palmery and the city of roses. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay in the Dades Valley
After breakfast, we set off from our hotel in the Dades Valley, driving along the road of 1000 kasbahs and passing through the colorful mud Berber villages that dot the valley. We’ll spend about 40 minutes driving along the volcanic range of the Saghro Anti-Atlas Mountains, eventually reaching Todra with its beautiful palm groves and historic Jewish mud villages.
A scenic, winding road will take us to the spectacular Todgha Gorges, where we’ll enjoy a walk through the gardens and into canyons that rise up to 400 meters high. Afterward, we’ll drive through the stone desert, crossing palm valleys on our way to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. We’ll take a lunch break in a restaurant situated in the vast, empty expanse of the Sahara.
Next, we head to the highest dunes in Morocco, the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a relaxing afternoon tea, embark on a camel ride into the desert, arriving at an oasis nomadic camp nestled in the middle of the dunes. Enjoy what many consider the most beautiful sunset in the world from the top of a dune, surrounded by the serene emptiness of the desert. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp under traditional nomadic tents or outside under the shooting stars. The evening includes dinner, drumming, and storytelling with the nomads, creating a truly unforgettable experience of 3 days tour.
Early in the morning, enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from the dunes of Erg Chebbi, located just 20 km from the Algerian border. After breakfast in the luxury desert camp, take a camel ride or walk with the caravan back to the hotel at the edge of the dunes for a refreshing shower.
We then drive across the acacia tree savannas and the black stone desert, stopping for a break in the small Saharan town of Alnifa in southeastern Morocco. In Agdez, we visit the dates market, a historic caravan crossroads for nomadic Berber tribes. From here, we head north, crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains, and continue our journey to Ouarzazate.
